Sunday afternoon journal page fun inspired by a Youtube video. This was done by smearing a bunch of dylusions paints and gesso around and a bit of stamping.

Inspiration journal page
This weeks assignment was to choose an inspiration piece and then create a journal page using the techniques we've learned so far. I have no idea why the bead add turned out to be the most inspiring thing i saw, but that it did. I think i was drawn to the colors and shapes, which I hope can be seen in the final page. the page includes some collage, Zentangles, Mandalas and stamping for texture. It was a challenge for me as the topic was so nebulous I had to force my creative mind to free up and go for it. The result is pleasant, considering how difficult the experience was for me.

IW what else could you be journal page.
"What else could you be?" In my quest to find the right collage bits I ran across the card with the lady and the text really stuck with me, so I worked the rest out around her. I laugh at myself because I left the pocket open on the envelope in case I "needed" it for something. Hey, you never know.

Oh the places we go - Travel journal sketches
These are a couple of sketches from our travels recently. I've never done a travel journal, but I love the idea. I did these after the trip which provided me a bit of a more relaxed sketching experience. It seems a bit daunting to sketch something while on the go, but it's something I am going to try. As part of the lesson I was able to assemble a small, portable sketch kit. So, I will take that along and go for it.

Inspiration Wednesday journal
This was supposed to be one of those drippage masterpieces. Since I struggle with dripping paint I opted for the graduated color blocking. I like the color combo and the variation, which is similar to the drippage affect. I used spray paint to get the white numbers and I was really happy with that process. The flowers were stenciled with black ink and the handwrighting was stenciled with molding paste. The embellishment was a playing card stuck on with washi tape.
Zentangle mini album
This was my first foray into zentangle-ing. I must say it was addicting. I ended up doing both sides of the paper to creat twice as many tangles as originally planned, which was funny because I didn't think I'd even do the first few before I started. I might be a convert. I've got the water color album to complete next and I'm looking forward to it.

Still life on canvas. The background is texturized with light molding paste leaving noticeable brush strokes, almost like a glicee, it's a neat affect. Used these lovely models because I am more comfortable with the geometry than other objects. However, I got caught up in the glass reflections and the liquid in the glasses. It eventually came together alright with many layers of paint! And the models tasted great too.

Wunderlust Basic journal page
The assignment was to complete a basic journal page with a focus on drawing the eye in a specific direction. I attempted to do this by flowing my flowers and butterfly collage down the path the lady is looking. The background was watercolor crayons, texture paste, stamping and shimmer sprays. I was happy with it until I got heavy handed with the dark spray, all over everything. From there I had to paint watered down gesso over everything to try to get some focus back on the collage. Win some, lose some, ha.
Inspiration Wednesday journal page two collage. Using modeling paste on the background gave it a rough finish. I had a light touch on the glazing, but it did pop the patterns drawn into the paste. We were supposed to burn the paper, but Since I like my house, I opted for distressing and inking the paper edges to look burnt.
