Grungy Monday #5 'Grunge goes Dimensional'

Grungy Monday goes 3D. You may have noticed by now that I like anything techy, and dimensional can be techy when it comes to the stamping world. I recommend you port yourself over to Studio L3 and look around. For the challenge this week I used my favorite trinket from the pile, this little vintage cuckoo clock pendant. Along with some basic grey paper and some "time flies" stamping I whipped out a quickie! Hope you enjoy it.

Grungy Monday #4 Texture Fades

Check out Grungy Monday #4 at Linda's Studio L3. This week I have a beloved Steampunk themed tag. I used the numbers texture fade, and I inked the plate with Walnut DI before running it through the Vagabond, so the ink ends up only on the low points. Then I stamped on the high points of the impression with Tim's Steampunk 'Plan AA' stamp and of course the top hat trio. I added some beads that I thought looked like gears along with the other couple of geegaws.

GRUNGY Monday #3 Color Wash

I have several of these Adirondack color washes but sort of forgot about them. So, this was a great challenge for me to dig them out and get to spraying, (everything in sight). What you see here is my fifth attempt. That's because I tried different color combos and patterns. I got muddy results when using several colors, so I stuck with one color ultimately, wild Plum. I used a Tattered Angels flourish mask. The stamping is tough to read in the pic. I used one of my favs, "ART is the energy of the soul"

Simon Stamp and Show 'Anything but a Card' & Grungy Mondays #2

I worked a two fer with this tag, Simon Stamp and Show and the Grungy Monday #2 challenge. This week we use the multi medium to stamp and image, it acts as a resist. I whipped out my new Tim Holtz Haberdashery stamp and goo-ed it up with multi medium and stamped, dried it and inked around it with walnut and aged mahogany distress inks. I really like this technique, it makes a great effect with the bright background showing through the stamped area. Dash on over to Simon Stamp and Show, Linda's Studio L3 and All Things Tim and get involved, you'll just love it.

Ride On! - Grungy Monday

Inspiration from t!m's 2008 12 days of Christmas tag. I used the compass mask with worn lipstick and concord grape Di's. I had to use my new Jalopy die cut in my new Vagabond. I had an idea to get a cartoony car out a piece of junk mail I'd saved because I liked the paper. Am I the only crazy one who has a box of the crap around the craft room? I used the vintage letters die for the words. I taped some tie dyed duck tape to a piece of paper to cut the letters out of (I know, don't end a sentence in a preposition, sorry, that's just how it goes sometimes). The Vagabond just barely cut thru the duck tape. I'm lucky I didn't wreck the machine, that probably was not one of my best ideas. I think my imagination of this tag was much better than the execution. But you know at least I'm back in the game and looking forward to every minute of it. Tool over to Linda's and check out the other groovy things she has to show.
