Easter cards made easy with Graphics 45
I made a couple Easter cards using Graphics 45 paper and the Sizzix pop n cuts. I hope my Aunts, Mom and Grandma enjoy them, there actually in the mail before Easter!
Week 15 collage
Well this was within my comfort zone. I found it interesting that I struggled with the abstract lesson last week and had no problem with the collage lesson. I might have realized that I imposed some rules on myself for an abstract, when I should have approached it with the same idea as a collage, if that makes sense.....
Anyway, enjoy all this texture and glazing and iridescent gold too.

Donna Downey's 48 week class. Week 14 abstract or "whatever speaks to you from the page."
Well, this was a far departure from the instructors abstract, which she gesso-ed over and started from scratch. Not sure where this came from but it just kind of grew out of the page. There's a bazillion layers of paint and texture.
Week 13 48 weeks, drippy build-up
The colors in the flowers is a buildup behind the whole page. Then there is a texture of dots, which is lightly highlighted with grey around the edges and the writing in acrylic pen. Another interesting lesson.

Week 11 whimsy?
Week 11 of Donna Downey's 48 weeks, we used textured wallpaper and painted a whimsical vase of finger painted flowers, it was interesting, but I'm probably not going to make whimsy my thing.

Week 10 She was like the moon, part of her was always hidden.
Week 10 of my 48 week class with Donna Downey. Every week is a new challenge. This week it was collage, texturing and grunge, including drippage. I had to psych up for the dripping, but once I let go and went for it I got the hang of it. Not sure I want to drip or splatter all of my stuff, but I do like the collage and texture elements.

Week 9 of 48 Mosaic
Week 9 included a random mosaic, which I was surprised to find I had problems with, being random was areal challenge. I could not follow a pattern! The next step was to sketch the flowers and the instructors was a whimsical one like Seymor in Little shop of horrors, I just couldn't get into it, so I came up with these. Next we were supposed to glaze in color over the mosaic to fill in the flowers and around the outside of them with the white. The whole thing was foreign and a struggle, but ultimately it was a fun challenge.
