For whatever reason I immediately knew I wanted to do this old phone. That was as far as the idea took me for week or so. Then it finally came to me and I finished it off with the lovely gal and the old style telephone number. This was really my husbands phone number growing up, so he got a kick out of it. Week 21 crinkly abstract chick

This week was many layers of book text, gesso and layers of heavy body acrylic applied with a pallet knife. Again, nothing I would normally do, but interesting anyway. I'm trying to ignore the drive to catch up, since I'm behind, but I know that's not the right way to go about this, so I'll try to chill and enjoy the journey a bit more.

More posies and finger painting, kind of decided I don't think this is so much my thing.  I'm a bit more straight lines, perspective than I am abstract and loose. But, that is why this class is great for me. I am exploring and abundance of new techniques and media, so rock on sister!

Week 19 Donna Downey's art class

Yes, I'm a scoosh behind, but you know life happens.  This was done with black gesso, very interesting stuff. The rest is collage bits, doodling and washi. I am realizing that I find refuge in art when life gets complicated and it helps ground me.
