CCC#33 Altered Metal with Alcohol Inks

I love this stamp from the 'Queen's Dresser Drawers', just a little plug, she's got a lot of great stamps. I used a metal star for this weeks technique, check out the how to in the CCC manual. This was simple and fun. I think the colored metal adds a nice coordinating detail, so I will be keeping this one in mind too. Mosey on yonder to Linda's Studio L3 and All Things Tim, for some samples that'll knock yer socks off!

CCC#32 Masking and Stamping

Maybe I should have rotated the image but you can obviously use your imagination, or you wouldn't be poking around here right? Masking is something I used often when I first started stamping. I thought that it was sortof high tech in the stamping world and I love tech gadgets, no matter what the subject. This is one of those gone wrong tags left from distress embossing weeks ago, but I figured out how to make it work for this week. I masked the car and I also split up the sentiment stamp into two locations, tricky huh. What fun after a long day at the office! Checkout everybody else's fun over at Linda's Studio L3.

You're not the Em-Boss of me.....

Simon Says Stamp and Show challenges us to emboss. I used the beautiful Tim Holtz Flourish texture fade on deep purple paper, simply mounted on a green patterned paper, layered onto a lighter purple, with a purple satin bow on top.

Simon Says Stamp and Show Tag and CCC#31 Rusted Enamel

Ok, I really like this technique, maybe my favorite so far. Well that's a tough call there are so many fun one's. The finish doesn't show as well in the pic as in person but that's ok you get the idea. I used some Holtz stickers, my slammin guitar charm and my favorite stamp, a great quote from 12 year old Sarah. Boy if I only knew what she knows at 12 years old! I leave this stamp on my desk so that it reminds me to do what I love and love what I do. I don't necessarily want to be a rock star, especially since I only sing well in the shower or the car.... Enjoy my rusted enamel and check outSimon Says Stamp and Show, Linda's and All Things Tim challenges.

CCC#30 Altered Metal with Paint

Metal altered with paint is just what it sounds like. Here I used a metal frame around the bird, and on the bottom of the tag I used a 'treasures' metal tag, both altered. Everything is blue, hum....not sure why I did that. I guess we all get the blues on occasion. You'll have to check out Tim Holtz's Compendium of Curiosities for the technique particulars. Also, check out Studio L3 and All Things Tim for a bunch of great examples.
