Faux Tattered Roses CCC3#3

Tattered roses abound. I've always admired these, the many times I've seen them and think they are just beautiful. For my entry from Tim Holtz CCC#3 at Linda's L3 Studio, sponsored by Inspiration Emporium, I made several roses out of rose and pink lightweight paper to compliment the little lost relative I separated from her photo mate for the glittered entry last week. I also had great fun making the background on the tag. I first stamped the foliage in shabby shutters then embossed it, then worked on some broken china and salty ocean on top. The edges of the tag are slightly embossed too, it's adds a nice detail. Then on top of it all I stamped the text in vintage photo. Enjoy.

CCC3 #2 FLY

Checkout T!m Holtz, CCC3, Challenge number dos over at Linda's Studio, with the Crew sponsored  by Funkie Junkie. This one was using Distress Glitter. I had to think about it since I'm inclined to stay far away from glitter, as I'm not the sparkly kind and I'm too OCD for the thought of glitter.  I was however able to get over myself and come up with this little sparkly tag, using grunge board wings and flourish, covered in Victorian Velvet and Shabby Shutters. The winged Princess is one of T!ms new lost relatives, and I embellished her wings with perfect pearls. I survived the glittering and may just be a convert.

Compendium of Curiosities Challenge vol. 3, nĂºmero uno, marbling.

The highly anticipated CCC3 is back! Join in the fun at Linda Ledbetter's blog, along with the curiosity crew, and this week's sponsor Inspiration Emporium, (who are also offering a 10% discount to help us stock up for the challenges!). This challenge is marbling, the technique for which you can check out in Tim Holtz's latest book, here.
This is a fun and simple technique with at least a bazillion combinations to achieve whatever look you want. And the best part is that you really can't mess it up. For mine I used mat paper and it really changed the affect, making it more subtle.
Go give it a whirl and thanks for stopping by. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's contributions!
